Talent Acquisition »
We maintain a strong presence at events organized by such groups as the National Black MBA Association, the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, Black Data Processing Associates, and the International Association of Black Actuaries.
Our nine associate resource groups (ARGs) actively collaborate with Talent Acquisition and participate in targeted career events, providing insight to recruiters and managers as they engage and hire key talent, including military veterans and people with disabilities. In addition, Anthem leverages the ARGs to recruit diverse candidates and promote existing job opportunities among ARG members.

To help build our brand equity on campuses, we have created three new initiatives to engage our interns and new graduates by using their extensive social media and online expertise. They serve as social media ambassadors, collaborate on content for our corporate blog, and share real work experiences via our Project Display Case section, which will be launched on our website later this year.
Veterans and People with Disabilities »
In recent years, Anthem has increased its outreach efforts to organizations that promote the employment and well-being of veterans and people with disabilities. We actively recruit them and offer our associates a workplace culture that focuses on abilities and on the contributions all of us can make to the business.
For many years, we have had strong partnerships with external organizations that are at the forefront of promoting the employment of people with disabilities. Through these partnerships, we’ve developed best practices that place Anthem among the top employers for people with disabilities. Anthem was named a DiversityInc Top 10 Company for People with Disabilities in 2013 and 2014. We have earned recognition from numerous groups, including the National Organization on Disability, the American Association of People with Disabilities, the U.S. Business Leadership Network, and WrightChoice. Anthem participates on the steering committees and boards of some of these groups.
In 2014, Anthem became a Founding Partner of the new Disability Equality Index (DEI), a joint initiative of the US Business Leadership Network (USBLN) and the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD). The DEI is a national, transparent benchmarking tool that offers businesses an opportunity to receive an objective score, on a scale of zero to 100, on their disability inclusion policies and practices.
All of Anthem’s job listings auto-syndicate to disability sites such as Disaboom, disabilityhiring.com, and the Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program Representatives (a military networking site). Positions posted to CareerBuilder also appear on disability-jobs.net and AbilityLinks.org. In 2013, we added a disability-optimized website where all Anthem jobs currently are listed (antheminc-disability.jobs).
